About the Artist

Three things will last forever: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

— 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13

Mary Jo Jacobson is a contemporary realist painter living in Seattle, Washington.

Her great passion growing up was to travel. She and her husband travelled throughout Europe, Africa, and more; 26 countries in all including Iran, Afghanistan, Nepal, and India. This experience birthed a great passion for both the peoples of the world and mission work.

For a few decades, Mary Jo put her art on hold as she homeschooled and raised seven wonderful children. With her children now all grown and pursuing their own lives (with children of their own), Mary Jo is now free to chase her long awaiting passion—oil painting. As society has so drastically changed these past years, she has an intense hope to capture historical, and family heritage through her Portraiture, Narratives and Still Life paintings.

Mary Jo graduated from Blanchet High School, Cornish School of the Arts, and Shoreline Community College with a degree in Visual Communications Program. Her greatest art education has been with the Evolve Artist Program by Kevin Murphy. It is the education she had hoped to find her whole life.

Her goal is to connect with her family, friends and with God. At her core, she strives to live life in daily relationship with Jesus, and to bless others with all that God has blessed her with.
